Jesus is coming and I can't pay the rent, The love is in the details I was there when, You were sick and you were tired, Saying "I just need a friend", You needed me to cry, Honey, I can never cry, Now I'm always laughing, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time. I shook hands with the soldier, It wasn't his call. I forgave you everything that was never your fault. I listened to your lover, I look him in the eye, I try to do the same for you dear, when i say that he's alright. I walked the back streets between your memory and the sea, But I coudn't find a way to be the person that you need. I gave you everything that I am and am not, Till I felt like the boy that gravity forgot, Gravity forgot. Jesus is coming and I can't pay the rent The love is in the details I was there when , You were sick and you were tired, Saying I just need a friend, You needed me to cry, Honey, I can never cry, And now I'm always laughing, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time. I don't want to fight you, if i have to fight, I don't want to fight you, but if i have to fight, I don't want to fight you, but if i have to fight, You're worth the fight. Jesus is coming and I can't pay the rent, The love is in the details, I was there when , You were sick and you were tired, Saying "I just need a friend", You needed me to cry, Honey, I can never cry And now I'm always laughing, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time.. I shot the messenger in the back of the head, I knelt before the statue that never felt, The vibration of the prayer that I'm trying to send, Now,I'm weak at the knees dear, standing on the ledge, Weak at the knees dear, standing on the ledge. Jesus is coming and I can't pay the rent The love is in the details I was there when, You were sick and you were tired, Saying I just need a friend, You needed me to cry, Honey, I can never cry and now I'm always laughing, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time, Laughing at the wrong time. I don't want to fight you, if i have to fight, I don't want to fight you, but if i have to fight, I don want to fight you but if i have to fight I don't want to fight you, if i have to fight, I don't want to fight you, but if i have to fight, I don want to fight you, but if i have to fight You're worth the fight.

Skin and Bones I woke up with "go home" written backwards on my cheek feeling like a cryptic crossword clue like a jigsaw's missing piece Staying up all night, isn't going to make it last. Worrying about it isn't going to bring it back. I feel like i am carrying water in my hands if i could believe you, then I'd have a glass, but i can't We are just skin and bones and blood, without love, without love. I want to rest where the trees grow tall enough for men to feel small, enough, to think straight. I want to say every kind word I've been thinking of I want to do it without fear, I want to do it without shame, I want to do it, Every single day We are just skin and bones and blood without love, without love We Are just skin and bones and blood without love, without love ( I hope my God has a plan for me , for me, I hope my God has a plan for me, for me..)

Be There If I have to Swim Once upon a time, along time ago, we got lost in the woods Strayed a little further than a sensible someone else should Wasn't looking for trouble , wasn't looking for gold, i knew it wasn't looking too good. I lost my compass, I lost my northern star. Now I'm talking with my best friend, she's right in front of me, says I don't know where you are But I'll be there if I have to,be there if I have to , be there if I ahve to swim I was walking through the wasteland as a child, I remember well stepping on rusty nail, Pop up through my shoe, i was with my father and I cried. I was young enough for that to be alright, Old enough to feel like a fool. She says some times I feel like that, i feel like that now too. I'll be there if i have to swim. You don't have to speak, your face tells a story by itself, I know sometimes you feel like the girl at the bottom of the well. Listen to the clatter, the chitter, chitter , chatter, the voices overground In the overstretched city with it's head stuck in the clouds. Where all the king's horses and all the king's mena Are far too busy helping somebody else Yeah you can fix it, but your going to have to stick it, stick it back together yourself When your backs against the wall, it's hard to stand tall and raise your voice and sing Hey, I know you, I've seen you at your best, you can rise above anything, I'll be there if I have to swim

99 c Dream I'm standing outside 99c Dream, On a Tuesday in Jersey city. It's along way from here, along way from there Anywhere i ever thought i might be. If you step inside I've got a dollar to spare, This one's on me. I'll take my change to the penny arcade, And a game that i know i can't win. My love may be lost, but I'd do it just the same for one chance. I picture just a few years from now, In a bright house on top of that hill, Children colouring outside the lines, Doing puzzles beneath your feet, It's a polaroid that i like to watch developing, Between you and me and against all odds, It's a house i'd like to live in, But my horse is lame, The jockey's overweight It's a race i should not be in Still i'd make the same mistakes again, for one chance In a million, in a million Lover, oh friend, prince on bended knee, There's no mystery here. One part makes you rise, One part makes you kneel, One part makes you fear what you feel. Look me in the morning eye, Tell me what you need. If you can't see all of these parts, I can't believe that it's real. Right hook to the left jaw, The referee's starting to count. My fighter is back on his feet "You'll not take me, before the last round" I'm standing outside 99c dream, On a Tuesday in Jersey city, It's along way from here it's along way from there, Anywhere I ever wanted to be, If you step inside, I've got a dollar to spare This one's on me. I'll take my change to the penny arcade and a game that I just might win.

In the name of all the brave and all of the betrayed, From Sand Creek and White Antelope to the president on the grassy knoll, In the name of Martin Luther King and the beat poet Ali In the name of all those giants on that shore in Normandy. In the name of all the chapters, Torn from your history books. America, I love you, won't you tell me the truth. In the name of Abu Gharib and the protest in Iran In the name of Palestine and our friends in Vietnam In the name of every child from here to Afghanistan In the name of all the words twisted from the holy books America,I Iove you, won't you tell me the truth. In the name of all our brothers uninsured on the night shift the soldiers and their mothers,so sure they're doing the right thing In the name of the creeps behind the lie on your screen Poisoning the lifeblood of the American dream In the name of all the chapters Torn from your history books America, I love you, Won't you tell me the Truth. In the name of New Orleans, the abandoned and the damned All that's well intended about your flag I know you know it takes more than muscle to be a man In the name of all the words twisted from the holy books America, i Iove you, won't you tell me the truth.

Seven long years in a hollow tree, Thinking how different things should have been, Won’t help. Seven more years, busying bar keep, A thousand happy hours and not enough sleep, Won’t help. You’ve got to look in to look out for yourself, Nobody, nobody, nobody else. I was nervous like a caged bird freed And I did not know what the creature needed from me. Like a dumb dog on my own leash, Yes, I dug that hole, now I can’t stay clean. You’ve got to look in to look out for yourself, Nobody, nobody, nobody else. Hey, What good would it be, If I promised you more than our world would ever give What good would it do? To sit around moping, “boy, we’re owed way more than this”? You’ve got to look in to look out for yourself, Nobody, nobody, nobody else... Seven more years looking over my shoulder, Hiding in the past, when it’s high time I rolled over, And coughed up the cobwebs and my worryings, For seven long summers and all that they might bring. You’ve got to look in to look out for yourself, Nobody, nobody, nobody else... Hey, What good would it be? If I promised you more than our world would ever give? What good would it do? To sit around moping, “boy, we’re owed way more than this”? You’ve got to look in to look out for yourself, Nobody, nobody, nobody else...

Darling, when your worries are piling, and the rent is over due. When all we own is battered and worn, that was once bright and new. I'm still away with the birds, I'm still wired to the moon. I'm still in love, I'm still in love, I'm still in love with you. And when you are tired and angry. and the Darkness slips right through. When you can't bare to be anywhere near me, and I can't blame it on you. I'm still on your side, to share the load when you need me to, I'm still in love, I'm still in love, I'm still in love with you. I'm still away with the birds, I'm still wired to the moon. I'm still in love, I'm still in love, I'm still in love with you.
