She makes me want to be clean Come drink with us ‘till dawn, You’ll see my good side, yeah, good side, yeah We’ll hang out with the poet and the boy, We’ll have some good times yeah, good times yeah But she makes me want to be clean Show my bright side always, For my bright side to be real…. You know it’s not so far from the city to the sea, We could wake up in the morning take the salt from the breeze As the rays from the lighthouse reel my ship in, Well, I know I won’t sink if this girl will swim But she makes me want to be clean Show my bright side always, For my bright side to be real Now the future’s looking brighter, I’m not afraid of anything, My head is clear, my time is mine, I’ve got nothing to lose and nothing to hide, But I like you and I don’t know why, I like you and I don’t know why, I didn’t ask you then, I haven’t asked you yet, I couldn’t find the right time. Walk me through the early morning empty streets, And we’ll hang out by the bridge in the upside down city, Listen to the dawn chorus by the Lee, We’re looking good in water colours, you and me, But she makes me want to be clean Show my bright side always for my bright side to be, She makes me want to be clean Show my bright side always for my bright side to be… She makes me want to be clean, Show my bright side always for my bright side to be She makes me want to be clean, Show my bright side always for my bright side to be, For my bright side to be real… The future’s looking brighter, I’m not afraid of anything, My head is clear, my time is mine, I’ve got nothing to lose and nothing to hide But I like you and I don’t know why I like you and I don’t know why, I didn’t ask you then, I haven’t asked you yet, I couldn’t find the right time. Yeah, I like you and I don’t know why, I like you and I don’t know why, I didn’t ask you then, I haven’t asked you yet, There’ll never be a better time.

Insects Trust in your instinct, we're not far from insects Sweet honey bee and the spider web No, i'll never break your wings or pull off your legs, Though I've got a feeling that i'll be stung again We're brushing off each other in the underground, I'm trying to read the poem that's pouring out, In a thought bubble above your head, No, i never worry about all that's unsaid Still,i'm staining the silence with the talk of the show, Thinking about the feeling in my toes before the snow Came down to reach for your naked head And crowned you as the season's princess We could be mayflies or we could be magpies here for a shr while, let's have a good time, even if ui hold your hand till we're old and grey still i've to start by holding today Trust in your instinct, we're not far from insects Sweet honey bee and the spider web No, i'll never break your wings or pull off your legs, Though I've got a feeling that I'll be stung again

about

My friend Warren Malone gave me an early birthday present of a day's recording at his friend Brandon Wilde's studio. One blustery winter's day at the end of the year, I took the Coney Island bound F train to Brighton Beach. I sat down. I played guitar and sang. Brandon moved the mics around a bit, pressed record and said several encouraging things. When the day was over we had way too many songs. I put the recordings in the back of my mind. I rang in the new year. I shoveled some snow. I took a lot of trains. I played a lot of gigs. A month or so later, I called up my friend Ryan Langlois. He and Warren came out and graciously sprinkled some of their talents on the original recordings. I put the songs in a box and left them to ferment for the rest of the winter. A couple of more months passed. I called back out to Brandon and I picked a selection of my favourites. Finally, for good measure, a sense of continuity, customer value or just to be odd, myself and Warren recorded a new slower version of 'She Makes Me Want To Be Clean' at his house. And then, I had an album.

I hope you like it,
